Picnic is from 2 pm to 5 pm. *There are no tickets to purchase for this event. However, you may drop off any amount you wish at the Picnic in the Free-Will Offering box to help with SWIFT expenses and programs.

SWIFT Speakers Forum: Core Beliefs of Our Faith

Part 2: Our Holy Scriptures

The Speakers Forum is being held at Temple Anshe Sholom in Olympia Fields. Presenters include:

Rabbi Paul Caplan, Temple Anshe Sholom;
Dr. Inamul Haque, Professor at Elmhurst College;
Reverend Thomas A. Baima, MBA, STD, Vice President and Provost Dept. of Systematic Theology, University of St. Mary of the Lake

The topic will examine what Scripture is in each faith and how it is used for devotional and educational purposes by the respective religions.

The presentations begin at 3:00 pm and will be followed by a questions and answer period. The program will conclude at 5:00 pm. There is no charge for admission. More information about SWIFT can be found at their website www.SWIFTinterfaith.org.

SWIFT Speakers Forum: Core Beliefs of Our Faith

Part 1: Our Understanding of God

Muslim, Christian, and Jewish Perspectives will be presented by the respective speakers. Br Kareem Irfan, a well-known and knowledgeable speaker, will speak on behalf of the Muslim community. The event is open to the public – no tickets are required. If you are interested in Interfaith Dialogue, then please attend this very informative and important forum.

TIME: 3pm – 5pm
LOCATION: Zion Lutheran Church, 171st St & 69th Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60477

Part 2 of this series (“Our Scriptures”) will be held in the beginning of February.
Part 3 (“Morality”) will be held later next year after Ramadan, probably in October of 2008, Insha-Allah.
