Ramadan: Community Iftar

Sundays in Ramadan: September 7,14,21 & 28, 2008

Every Sunday in Ramadan our community will gather at the AIA Banquet Hall for a community ifthar. This is free and open to all. Families are encouraged to sign-up in the masjid to help contributed to one of the ifthars.

Ramadan: Ite'kaf Program

Last 10 days of Ramadan: September 21 - 30, 2008

There will be programs after Asr and Taraweeh in the Masjid. There will be a late night 1-hour session followed by dua, and 1-hour session after Fajr till Ishraq. Time for zikr will be provided before Maghrib. Brothers will be having daily Iftaar in the masjid.

Hadith About I’tekaf
Narrated 'Aisha (RA): Allah's Apostle (pbuh) used to practice I’tekaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan."

Ramadan Food Drive

Through Friday October 3rd

The Muslim Youth Club is hosting it's annual Ramadan Food Drive! Please bring in your canned or dry food items or toiletries into the masjid

Safwan ibn Salim related that the Prophet said: Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah's cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

Donations will be split among the Tinley Park Food Pantry and the CIOGC (Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago) Fight Hunger Campaign which will share donations with the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

School Eid Party

Sunday October 5th

AIA Weekend School is planning an Eid Party for the students on Sunday October 5th Insha-Allah (the first Sunday after Eid). The party will be held during school-hours. There will be games, treats, and lots of fun!
